Prepare an accurate operations and incident file before asking for insurance terms. A generic coverage list cannot determine whether a particular loss is insured.

Describe the activities and property
List the wash format, service menu, open hours, staff roles, equipment, property arrangement and customer-vehicle handling. Identify planned changes. A quote should be based on what the business actually does, including detailing or staff-driven vehicles where relevant.
Provide the lease and lender requirements so the professional can identify contractual evidence needed. Do not assume the seller’s policy automatically transfers in an asset acquisition.
Organize incident and claims information
Review reported claims, refunds, customer complaints, maintenance and inspection recommendations. Ask how incidents were recorded and which issues remain unresolved. A policy renewal does not establish that every operating risk is controlled.
Keep customer information private and use appropriate advisor channels. Staff should know the reporting procedure and who is authorized to communicate with the insurer.
Compare the exact proposals
Discuss limits, deductibles, exclusions, valuation basis, waiting periods and endorsements using the written policy terms. Compare proposals on the same facts. A lower premium can buy materially different protection.
Ask a licensed insurance professional to explain customer-vehicle, equipment, employee and business-interruption questions for the actual operation. This page does not resolve coverage or quote a required statewide premium.
Coordinate coverage at the handover
Confirm the effective time, required parties, certificates and any continuing seller arrangements. See the acquisition insurance questions for the diligence conversation. Insurance decisions should connect the contract, site and operational facts.
